Empowering Our Veterans
If you are a Veteran, Reservist, National Guard Member, or Active Duty, then you can not afford to miss this event! Join the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) and spend one day with Small Business Development Center and gain a lifetime of knowledge. Learn how to start a business or expand your current business. This one day workshop will offer you a wealth of valuable information and networking opportunities with potential partners, fellow veterans and possibly potential investors at NO COST to you. This workshop includes three parts:
Part 1
Achieving the American Dream- Successful Veteran Entrepreneur presentation by our guest speaker Lieutenant Commander Marlon Terrell. Marlon launched a Chick-Fil-A restaurant in Woodbridge New Jersey in June of this year. He is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy and the University of Maryland. He also served as a Navy recruiter for over five years.
Part 2
Obtaining Financing to Start or Expand Your Business
Learn about the SBA's business loan programs. The SBA and its partner lenders will discuss the availability of loan products available to Disabled Veterans, Reservists, National Guard Members, Active Duty business owners, and their immediate family members. Learn what lenders look for in a winning loan proposal, how to increase your chances of getting a small business loan,as well as gain an understanding of the loan application process.SBA presenters as well as local and alternative financiers will be on hand to discuss various loan programs and how to prepare, so that you are financially ready to obtain them.
Part 3
How to Secure Procurement Opportunities Panel
SBA Experts will discuss the Pitfalls of VA Verification; registering with SAM; how to obtain WBE,MBE, SBE,DBE and the 8acertifications and procurement marketing.Empowering Our Veterans Business Work...Date and Time
