\nClara Barton Piano Painting Project

\nThe Edison Chamber of Commerce and the Edison Arts Society invite all Edison Township artists and Edison Arts Society members as well as Edison Chamber members who want to express their creativity and take part in decorating one of four upright pianos to be installed temporarily along Amboy Avenue in Clara Barton. The pianos are for public playing during the spring and summer of 2021. The winning artists will be spotlighted on each piano with a plaque.

\nThe decorated pianos will bring creativity\, color\, and music to our downtown - welcoming all to Clara Barton! Providing all of those who live\, work and visit the area with enjoyment and entertainment. As we come out of the COVID-19 pandemic\, we understand the emotional \;impact it took on on our community. We \;believe this project will bring smiles to the faces of all who see and hear the sounds\, beauty\, and creativity of the pianos.

\nProject Details
\nThe pianos will be available for decoration at sites along Amboy Avenue\, \;to be scheduled for decoration through the Edison Chamber office. The Chamber will provide each painter with $350 for the purchase of the paint\, materials\, and labor.* \; While some piano sites may have an overhead cover\, this is not guaranteed\, and the Edison Chamber of Commerce reserves the right to relocate the decorated pianos to unprotected sites\, so appropriate material selections should be made accordingly. \; \;

\nSelection Process
\nThe four "\;artists"\; will be chosen by the Edison Arts Society. The winning artists will be selected and will be notified by Saturday\, May 29th. The painting projects must be completed no later than Saturday\, \;June 5. Each artist will be required to sign an agreement to the terms of the project before the work can commence. No previous public art experience required\; artists of all career levels are welcome to apply.
